Keeps multiple job calendars and personal calendars organized

I don’t write reviews but… This calendar has helped me stay on top of all the different responsibilities with multiple businesses and my personal calendar. Works with no problems on my iPhone and the support team really is great. It is dialed in for sure. Enjoy!

Better than the regular apple calendar!

I really like how easy it is to use and that it automatically shares with my other apple calendar applications. Glad I got it especially since Apple has not fixed the issue of new events mysterously disapearing as soon as you type them into the apple calendar.

Bought this to replace iCal

I originally bought this because iCal ditched the ability to look at a month view (on the left) simulataneously as you were looking at your calendar on the right. I really missed that from the redesigned iCal because it helps me in my planning. I have found that this calendar is 100% reliable and does everything Id like it to do. I maintain about 10 calendars from my work calendar, to my personal calendar to my kids and family schedules. I make calendar events to remind me of everything and it really works well!

Still the best

I’ve been using this product since the early 90s it was [the legacy] Now Up-to-Date + Now Contact and shipped on floppies. I was soooooooo happy when they introduced BusySync in the new millennium. BusyCal and it’s stablemate BusyContacts work seamlessly together, are compatible with google-cal, etc. One of the coolest things is the way that Contacts pulls emails from [apple] Mail and displays them next to each card in your contacts DB. The ONLY THING these guys are missing — and i’ve been asking them for it for yearrrrrrrssss — is a true integration with an email program…kind of like a Mac Style outlook [entourage? meh]…such functionality would leave the rest of the pack in BusyDust!… Thanks BusyMac!!!

Every day.

I have used this app every single day for years. It’s an absolute essential for me now. I wouldn’t even know where to begin using the stock Calendar app.

Best I’ve found

I used Now Up-to-Date for years—long after it died, in fact. This program, by some of the original developers of NUD, is a worthy, and in some ways superior, replacement. It does essentially everything I need it to. There are a few places where I wish the functionality were greater, or the interface were slicker, but there’s nothing really wrong with it. A great replacement for Apple’s Calendar and Reminder programs.

Great calendar app for Google Calendar

I always keep my employer’s data outside of my personal data (in the native apps). This calendar app very effectively integrates with Google Calendar and Gmail, and gets the job done. Pros: - The reminders system works extremely well, popping up alerts or using the OS X notification cetenter. I love that they give you the choice between those two. - The interface is clean and simple. I don’t need wallpaper or other visual frills, and they often detract from what I need to do day-to-day. This is very crisp and clean looking - Day, Week, Month, and other layouts for easy navigation of upcoming appointments - Weather and other “nice-to-have” features that stay out of the way when you don’t need them - Proper integration to Gmail. Incoming appointments show up in the app, and acceptance/rejection/invitation emails go out when you take action on the invite - Handles .ics files (from Outlook or most other calendar platforms) with no issues Cons: - When multiple user calendars are identified in the software, you will get some notifications for other calendars that are not “checked” and not visible at the time - HTML formatting and links are not preserved in calendar event notes, which makes opening a Webex or other web link a pain Overall, very well recommended if you use Google Calendar and want to keep it outside of the native applications like I do.

Better Than iCal But Still Flawed

2016 Updated Reveiw: I tried to go back to iCal after running into a major issue with BusyCal, specifically that my Mac was not happy with iCal turned off. Certain software apparently needs to see iCal or there are delays and timeouts while OSX seeks out iCal. However, that experience only served to show me that BusyCal is still a better calendar program, so I went back to it and fixed the aformentioned problem by leaving iCal active in the background. Giving the multiple problems I have had with BusyCal for the many years I have been using the software, there is no way to award this app anything more than 4 stars.

Won’t Open

It says that this was purchased on another computer, that is not true. It will not accept my apple ID, says an unexpected error occurred to contact support, which support? Paid $50.00 for this and not it will not work, what a waste of money.

happy planning

Great product. It keeps all 4 family members in sync. Invaluable for seeing what is happening with the family and planning commitments. Althouhe we do seem to occasionally have problems with items appearing on some user’s devices but not others.

Great Alternative to Apple’s native calendar

I recently went 100% to my Macbook Air for business. I had previous been using a Lenovo laptop with Outlook for email and calendar. My companiy’s calendar would not work with Outlook for Mac, so I needed a solution. I search and found Busy Cal 2 and it has been great. I almost decided to go back to my Lenovo and just travel with my macbook before I found Busy Cal 2. Very happy with it so far.

The One Calendar for Your Busy Life!

I use this to track all the calendars I need - from Work appointments (other people’s calendars) to my entire family - each having their own calendar - including my dog - who has her own calendar we use to keep track of heart worm meds, vet appointments, and even annual town-registration deadline. When I’m at a Doc’s office and make an appointment, it immediately propogates to all devices and desktops - making our calendar mis-matches and crossed wires a thing of the past. Great app - well thought out. They just get how to make syncing work!

Great app for this category

I would give it 5 stars for how it stacks up against other bland calendar apps. It basically is the best BASIC calendar app for planning and keeping track of dates. What I wish it would do is give more flexibility with producing printed calendars that are graphics-rich, containing photos or clip art, etc. Years ago, when I was in the Windows world there was a great calendar program (which I cannot remember the name of) which did more than basic events and activitiy tracking, but you could print out wonderful, graphics-rich, colorful calendars for your school, church, office or organization. Ive been so many years in the Mac world, Ive just gotten used to printing boring, plain-Jane calendars that merely get across the basic events and activities information, but not in any seriously interesting way. But for my own personal and business tracking of events and activities—the most important purpose of a calendar app, there is no better app that I have found thanBusyCal 2 (and I have tried 6-7 of them), and I use BusyCal 2 every single day and now use no other calendar app.

Better than Apple’s Calendar

I’m not a fan of Apple’s Calendar App, and I have a similar Love/Hate with Outlook 2016 for Mac. I’ve owned BusyCal for quite some time, and it continues to perform well. I’d like some better navigation in it, but the reliability is rock-solid.

Great calendar app!

BusyCal and it’s counterpart, BusyContacts are both excellent applications. Once you get them set up to your liking, they just work – and work well. BusyCal seems to handle multiple calendars better than Mac’s Calendar app, though I wish it offered support for Microsoft Outlook 365 and not just Exchange. If it did, I’d tack on another star!

Pretty good but ugly UI

I have been trying to keep Now-Up-To-Date alive on my various Macs for years as it became less and less usable. I researched all the Mac calendars available, and none of them are as good as NUD—the ability to see the text contents for every event in the day at the same time, and the excellent, customizable interface were superior to what BusyCal provides. I had hoped to use FantastiCal, since the interface is really attractive, but BusyCal made the event contents visible without having to open events in a separate window, so I went with the latter. The big white & grey interface is pretty ugly, and I can’t add graphics and change colors of individual events (I can only add color for entire calendars), so it looks like a 25-year-old app. Since I look at it all day every day, and since I’m a hardcore Mac guy, that experience is less than optimal. So I will rate it as “the best available” at present, even though I’m not crazy about it by any means.

my favorite use experience

I use - to various degrees - BusyCal, Fantastical, iCal, & Google Calendar on Macs and iOS devices … I don’t dislike the other programs, but BusyCal has consistently been my favorite calendar app experience on the Mac
