BusyCal 2 App Reviews

Great dependable calendar app

I found Busycal shortly after I converted to the Mac and have used it for several years now. Solid and dependable app with great functionality. The support for Exchange is generally great and makes Busycal a good alternative to Outlook.

Like it a lot more than OS X calendar

It is more flexible in viewing time ranges, banner and more. I have been using BusyCal instead of my Apple Calendar for a few years.

The Mercedes of Personal Calendaring SW

I don’t write many reviews, but this App is the Mercedes of Calendaring Apps. Haiving owned this App for several years now, I’ve never had “any” significant problems with the App, but what I do remember was that even my minor questions or problems were resolved by support immediately. However, my memory a little foggy on that, because it’s now been years of “flawless” operation, and satisfaction with this App. I TRUST IT to get me places on time, with the information that I need.

Ideal for our small company

Our small company - 10 people - has been using BusyCal for about six years. We bought it because it first allowed us to share a master calendar with everyone in the company. Since then, we have grown along wit BusyCal and most of our employees have taken to using it for their personal calendars as well. What especially impresses me about the current version is how it uses iCloud to sync calendars and provide a shared calendar for employees outside the office. In the past, this has been awkward. The latest version, coupled with iCloud, makes it very easy. Our calendar is flexible, shareable, powerful and …. fun. I recommend BusyCal for any small office.

Excellent integration of tasks + calendar; full of useful features

If you’d like to easily access tasks and your calendar in a single integrated app, this is an excellent choice. It’s easy to use, but also has a rich set of features that are fairly easy to figure out quickly, with great customization options. (I do wish it could accomodate “start dates” — like OmniFocus’s “deferred” dates -- as opposed to only having “due dates”, but very few apps do that, and I haven’t found any that accommodate “start dates” while also integrating well with a calendar on a Mac, like BusyCal does….) Overall a top-notch app. Helpful explanations/documentation on-line too if you need help figuring something out.

EXCELLENT CALENDAR WITH ONE MAJOR FLAW

BusyCal 2 does most everything right with one exception: when you pull the calendar to the front of your screen its like being hit in the face with a bright light. If you were outside in the Sun this would be ok, but inside at night its an explosion of rudeness. For users with aging eyes, please give us the ability to seriously tone down all the whiteness. Thanks.

Haven’t looked back

I switched to BusyCal when it first came out and haven’t looked back since. I had to stop using it during a computer upgrade and got back to it as quickly as I could.

Does it all for me!

I love this app! Connects to all my subscribed calendars and Exchange cals. Everything translates over to my iPhone perfectly so I never miss anything… whether from iCloud, Exchange or Subscribed cals. I actually use Busy Cal and keep Apple Calendar out of my dock. Very stable app!

It just works

I have used BusyCal since the beginning…. works great! wish I could print directly individual calendar events.

This app puts Apple’s Calander to shame!

The features, and UI of this program are 2nd to none. It simply is my favorite Calander app!

syncing was frustrating, would not buy again

the busycal calendar has a great look and features but for me syncing is everything because i need the same calendar info on all devices. syncing was frustrating and sloppy and the busycal help was not helpful. mac calendar items appeared on busycal, often twice, but i could not get busycal entries to appear on my mac calendar. also, i’d have to have both busycal calendar and mac calendar on my laptop, and continue to use mac calendar on my ipad and iphone. extremely disappointed with busycal and the mac app store - will delete the app and never use it, horrible experience.

DC

This one app does it all for my scheduling & To Dos. Forget using multiple programs to get the same features.

Fantastic customer support

A few days before Christmas my BusyCal started acting up: I had unlinked and relinked my iCloud calendars and BusyCal started crashing on start-up (every darn time). I rant through the basic fixes I could think of but with no avail. Flummoxed, I decided to ask for help from the folks at BusyCal, not really expecting much—certainly not a live response within 39 minutes. Over the course of the several emails the customer support rep (or reps) worked with me to find the problem and come up with a fix by midafternoon and I was one my way again. I remain very, very impressed. Also, as someone who has been using BusyCal since May 2011—and who uses it to aggregate my iCloud, Outlook/Exchange, and Google calendars—I really simply can say enough about it’s functionality. It’s a rich application and incredibly stable (and clearly has phenomenol customer support). I really can’t imagine using anything else. Tim

Bundle Package

I just purchased this yesterday and so far it looks great. But the Apple store had 50.00 just for the calendar. Then I get a receipt via email that says for the same price you can get the contacts….for $50.00. Since I already made the purchase, I don’t feel it is fair to pay another 50.00 for the contacts, when they could have been included. One star for the fact the pricing is not consistent.

The best calendaring app available - hands-down

I was floored when the Mac App Store listed the other guys as the best calendaring app for 2015. I have been using BusyCal for years and can say, without reservation, that it is the best, most elegant, calendaring app out there. I can’t wait to see what’s in-store for 2016.

Everyone should have it

Geti it. You can’t go wrong.

Superbly stable, Refreshingly Consistent!

This is a great app from a great team. There arent too many thoughtful, useful apps out there anymore that stick with what works. This is the main thing I like about BusyCal (BC). The main functionality of the software DOES NOT CHANGE from version to version. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU BusyMac! Yes, innovation is important, and making seemingly arbitrary changes sometimes *does* change the world (thanks, Apple), but when I learn a workflow, embrace keyboard commands, and become productive using a particular method, I DO NOT WANT THAT TO CHANGE dramatically every year (No thanks, Apple!) BC is just that, useful software that works!

Saved me from losing my mind!

I started using BusyCal when Apple split their To Do list from their calendar and created Reminders. As a freelance designer, I use my calendar and To Do list in conjunction all day long so I FREAKED OUT when they were split, it was so cumbersome. After a couple “dropped balls” I started looking for a replacement calendar, Microsoft was not an option. I found BusyCal and LOVE it! I can easily create a Google calendar for my PC peeps, then simply import and run it from BusyCal and have EVERYTHING I need in one calendar…. oh, and did I say that it syncs seemlessly with my iPhone and iPad? So many tools and features and I have never had a glitch. It is a manditory piece of software for me, Love, Love, Love this app.

Does a lot, outdated UI

Busycal isn’t too pretty but it gets the job done. I especially like that I haven’t lost any calendar events or invites since switching. It also shows sunset and weather which are useful and my to-dos are pulled in from the reminders app, which has actually led to me using the reminders app more. I’d say it’s overpriced, but I haven’t really taken the time to look for alternatives...

Great Calendar

Works perfectly, and across my iPad & iPhone also automatically. Couldn’t do with out it!
